Looks like the valve right at the tank is leaking on the ground. It is a one tank system. The valve is actuated by a lone rod out to the side of the coach. Looks original. Valve looks like it is mounted right on the tank by flange. Do I just remove the bolts and put on a standard valterra valve? Do I need any special fittings or valves. I want to have everything I need to take it off and fix it so I don't screw up the July 4th trip.

I think it depends who built it. My Norris upfit had a Valterra valve, I replaced it with another which was like 15 bux from Frady.

Is the valve white -- if so, it is a Thetford -- and if an original as shown in this photo it is easiest to replace in-kind. Most of the GMC vendors are likely to stock the valve. Price approx $65 compared to $15 for a Valterra.

When replacing you may find some of the mounting holes are stripped out. The bottom two can be drilled through and nuts/bolts used.

Yes, the bottom two are best drilled through and replaced with long SS screws (bolts) and nylon lock nuts. The top two - with GREAT CARE - can be cleaned up and Helicoil inserts put in. In this case, it is very important to break the drive tang off the insert and get it out of the hole. I have done this successfully a number of times, but it has to be done.
I have been trying to design an adapter for a Valtera valve, but none so far have been satisfactory. Some have managed to mount a Valtera valve, but the mounting fastener spacing is just wrong enough.
If you go to order a valve from Thetford, A - you won't save any cost and B - they wait three days before they ship anything to anybody that is not on open account.

Matt - If they wait three days >after< they ding your credit card, they will find themselves in very deep yogurt. Before they charge it, they can pretty much wait as long as they like.

I didn't look to see if they did charge the card first. I still live close enough that if I could I would have gone over there to get the part. As is was, they have no counter sales. Still. I expected the part to be here in a day - even by ox cart. A day after that, I wasn't here and I called and found out then that nothing had shipped and would not for another day. I was a little (to put it mindly) perturbed. I told then to cancel the order. I had found the valve several places and not a large price variation, but I was hoping to get it faster if it came from Dexter (MI - just west of A2).
The place I order from shipped that day Fedex at the listed price and I had the new valve the next day.
