Hard to believe but in a few days I will have been the care taker of this coach for a year. I have had the honor and pleasure of meeting some pretty amazing people in my travels for parts and knowledge, and Im a better person for getting to know them.

The list of new / updated parts is too long to get into, but it starts at the headlights and ends at the tail lights. Some 67 entries on the spreadsheet. Wore the hat of a carpenter, electrician, plumber, carpet and flooring installer, mechanic, and even a camper for a day or two:) Lots of refinished Walnut, some beautiful parts from Mr. Lenzi. and some much needed guidance from some local GMCers. THANK YOU.

As ordinary as it sounds, I took a trip for a few miles to fill up the LP tank. Hit 60mph on the highway for a mile or two and came back with all six wheels still bolted on. Still have some things to work on and work out. But it starts, runs, drives, steers and STOPS. Having replaced more fluids, gaskets and grease than I care to comment on, I'm pretty happy that its no longer marking its spot in the driveway.

Looking forward to a few more camping trips this summer, and a few more uneventful miles.

Great, every mile is a good mile.

mine still has a nice dark spot where it has marked it's spot on my driveway. I don't think that will change.

my GMC actually leaks less then my wrangler does now, and my Vw dune buggy. But that VW will hold top honors i think forever.

24 years ago and 240,000 miles later, we still enjoy our touring in our GMC. My wife and I bought a gutted 23 GMC and had it professionally remodeled and then professionally mechanical/electrical/plumbing refurbished. The man who did the mechanical/electrical/plumbing recommended to bring it back for refurbishment to keep our good reliability. He is retired now so we took it to Jim bounds in FL for the latest service/upgrade. We have enjoyed our retirement.

I wrote a book about the things we learned and how those things can save you time and money over those 24 years. You might be interested in reading about the improvements that we made as improved our touring experiences.

smallrvtouring.com and you can look at what is inside the book at no cost as I have included the Contents.
