Good afternoon ladies and gents, any one out there use or familiar with a, I guess you would call it a repeater, that could be put on a window help with getting wifi in and out of our 26ft aluminum tubes. I've seen the devices for adding an external antenna to a laptop through the usb but I'm looking for something to use with tablet, kindles and smartphones. I'd appreciate any experiences or recommendations.
Thanks

I have, but there are so many, and if there is one thing I have learned in my almost 60 years I've occupied this planet that the wisdom of the sages is always better than the wisdom of the advertising department of any company. I feel we have a great bunch of sages on this forum, on many different subjects. Many will forget more than I'll ever remember about TZE's.
Thanks

I just saw the line after your signature line, we just had a man get arrested in a local retirement village here, who got arrested for slashing a ladie's car tires because she was in his favorite BINGO seat. But I see you're in Canada, so it couldn't have been you. Unless you come down to Lake Ashton in Lake Wales, FL.

Richard "Arch" Archer installed a repeater in his coach and was very
happy with the results. I have one in my work truck and it works well.

Hello Skip,

after our trip in April and my dismay about the free wifi range, I
looked into wifi repeaters, and came across
http://www.jefatech.com/product/RV-KIT-REPEATER/Long-Range-WiFi-Repeater-Kit-for-RVs.html
and am considering getting one.

My idea is, that all devices in the RV (laptops, tablets and phones)
connect to the repeaters wifi cloud. While on the road I have a Straight
Talk mobile hot spot, which the repeater connects to. When parking, the
repeater connects to one of the nearby open wifi signals.

All devices inside the coach will never need to be changed to new wifi
clouds, and always have connectivity.

That's my plan, and I'll see how that'll workout in the summer, when
I'll be back in the US check the honey-do-list (things like ceiling and
wall refurbishment, new pipes where needed etc.

My system (purchased in about 2008) is now out of date for data, but
works fine for my Verizon cell service.
Take a look here.

For the techies, DD-WRT firmware installed on a compatible router can be configured as a repeater. Much more involved than an off-the-shelf solution, but fun nevertheless. Smile

I may have missed the original question, but for Wifi on the road I use a Verizon 4G Lite Jetpack. It provides secure connection to internet and I can run up to 4 devices at the same time. I 10 gigs per month data and have only exceeded once this past winter when we were in Tucson. The basic is 2 gigs and you can also get 5 gigs and if you need for than 10 then you can buy more as needed. Never had a place it did not work and it is reasonably fast too. I had previously used a pantech verizon hot spot single device that worked well too. Just get on the Verizon website and go to internet devices or go to your Verizon Store.

One thing I forgot to mention. I use an external antenna same as Arch
did - not the little magnetic that came in the kit.
