Just like 2014, I'll be in Orlando at Wekiwa Springs State Park 7 - 14 DEC 15. Why do I mention this so soon, you ask? Because THE DAMN PARK IS BEGINNING TO GET RESERVATIONS ALREADY! I reserved site 021. Sites 1 - 30 have sewer, sites on the other circle have water and electric only.
Why a no-host rally in Orlando? Well, I have to be there for the big AKC dog show that weekend, during which all AKC breeds are available for inspection during Meet The Breed Saturday and Sunday. As exhibitors learn the ropes of The Mouse, they learn to keep their RVs at either Wekiwa Springs or Lake Louisa unless they're just filthy rich and will pay the ~~$600 to stay at the Convention Center show site for the week. At the (much nicer) park, it's something under $200 full hookup.
Although he doesn't know it yet, one day will likely end up at Jim Bounds' Co-op for brain picking and restocking of parts and fire extinguishers. At least half a day and maybe the entire day will be spent at Skycrafter's, an excellent place to separate yourself from your money for fun stuff. One night will be Almost Famous BBQ Chicken and corn onna cob and salad plus whatever sides attendees bring.
Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday I'm off to the show to set up and then let Sam the BWD and a couple of his friends play Meet and Greet all day. Thursday and Friday at least, there's an all - breed show at the center. It's the best way to see what breeds you'd like to look at closely, and what breeds will likely shine at the Big Show Saturday and Sunday. If you want to pay for a seat, Sunday night is the National Championship, competition for all the marbles. Hint: you can see the dogs better from the TV coverage than in person during the Championships. The bennies of being there accrue mostly to serious Dog Persons. I suggest if somebody has a decent size TV at the park and has Dish, we can watch the Championship in laid - back comfort.
Think about joining us, The Mouse Awaits. Don't think too long though, the place is likely to fill.

Wekiwa is a wonderful place. I'm not surprised they are getting filled up during snowbird season. Good luck with the rally. If I wasn't such a working stiff I'd be trying to convince my wife to hit this one!

Birmingspam by work, not by heritage. But a nice place to raise kids regardless. We just were down that way last week. Had to trek down to the east side of the big lake and I'm not in a hurry to go back. Plus we'll be at the Mouse House the following December for my twins 5th birthday (traditional trip). But in general, I'll be green with envy about your no-host!

I wish we could make it. December is hard for us. Family scattered all over the country and (of course) we have to see them all. They've all lost the map that gets them to Americus, GA so we go to them. Y'all have fun.

You can make it. Bring the grandchild, and you can do The Mouse, and Universal, and the rest of the tourist traps with him. And do Meet The Breeds and let him pet a LOT of dogs.
