I would like to have our kayaks with us on the next leg of our travels. On my older cars there was a roofrack mounted in the gutter
I was wondering if the alu gutter of our gmc would be up to that job. Anybody tried that?

I installed Yakima permanent landing pads (bolted to the roof) toward the front which allows me to use the towers and cross bars I already had. I load the boats from the front. It gets harder every year to get them up on the roof but I'm still able to do it. Once up they are actually easier to tie down than on the SUV because I can get up between them and work from above rather than trying to reach up from below. I did use longer cross bars than I do on the SUV.
I'm trying now to figure out a way to carry the kayaks on top of the Tracker. It would be so much easier to load them.
