While installing my new Onan QG 2800, I suspended the generator door from the ceiling with a bungee cord. Then one day backed out of the garage...

Luckily I had a lower side panel salvaged from a donor coach. Correctly cut it can make a pretty good generator door.

Thanks to JohnH who posted the idea of bending aluminum angle for the air strut mounting brackets. Formed them with a dead blow hammer.

Still need to cut the vent holes.

Nice Job and super Idea JP!!

May I offer A couple of Ideas for the vent for you. Use a plastic reefer door for vent. (Cut it down and frame it in Aluminum.)

Manny uses a bent aluminum strut for the horizontal bars of his grill maybe he can sell you a couple to make your vent grill. If the scale is too big, Maybe Kerry Pinkerton can bend a few grill members on his brake and weld them into a nice frame. Or rivit them on your own of course.

Great job on the replacement door.

This comes from someone who almost backed out through the 10" wide barn door with both side doors up.
