Addressing some Onan issues that were prompted by oil leak (think that is solved with new low oil pressure sender). Decided to replace mounts as well. Looked around on some Onan online forums and it seems Onan uses same part number with a designation of "wt" for how hard/ weight bearing a mount is. Four mounts arrived from one of our best vendors; three match, one different wt spec, all with same part number stamped on the side: 0402-0284 part number. The one I have already taken off had a different number stamped on the bottom -
"B-19" on bottom of the one mount I have removed already
WT .3 on three new boxes I got; "c-1" stamped on bottom of these rubber mounts
WT .12 on one new box; "c-12" stamped on bottom of this rubber mount
Questions include: Does this matter? Is one position better for harder or softer mount, and if so, what is the spec telling me about harder or softer?
The old one I took off is definitlely compressed, more than a 1/4 inch compared to new ones.

I really fail to understand why you would address the GMCnet on this issue. I would think that you would call the “one of our best vendors” to resolve this problem. I would think that they would immediately send you the fourth one to match the other three.

It seems that this person is asking the community a simple question hoping that there may be some previous knowledge.

So, anyone have some "precious knowledge'???
I suspect the "one of our best vendors" would have the knowledge and perhaps even a replacement part in the mail if he has been contacted.

Thanks guys. I didn't see the issue addressed, the older posts and pictures of actual Onan boxes didn't even seem to have this "wt" number...
I had contacted the vendor, and of course he would have replaced or refunded. No problem there, but he went by part number only. I was asking beyond that.
It's kind of like the main engine drive belts that have the same part numbers from twenty years ago, but most of them are now narrower...who would expect that to be the case? When I finally learned (through this forum) that the wide belts are what we need, it solved my problem. The transmission filters seem to be running this course where there is enough variation now on a single part number to be worth sorting out. I appreciate the hive mind (distinguished from "group think") and was asking, as Bob said, for "previous" experience.

If anyone here thinks that I was berating Tyler or chiding him for wasting our time with his posting then they really don't know me.
My sole reason for being on this site for so many years has been and continues to be to assist other GMCers. If I ever feel that is no longer the case I will drop out.

Hi Carey
It's not over. In May 13 I was sedated and the surgeon was starting the 7 hour operation on the second set of vertebrae when the anethelogist say my heart was going into afib. He thought I might have a full heart attack so he stopped the surgery. They put me into ICU for two days until my heart settled down. I have been having stress tests and the heart doctor now feels they can try again on June 10.
Meanwhile I still have the acute pain in my lower back and legs which I've had for over 9 months now.
Hopefully it'll turn out all right when they fuse part of my spine and open the inside of the vertebra to take the pressure off my spinal cord.
Don't know if I'll make GMCMI at Rapid City but I should stop being bedridden and back in action by year end.

Glad the surgeon made the wise choice, though not the results you were hoping to achieve. You have a vast knowledge base and always try to give a direct answer. The question now raises my cuiosity and I'll have to check the 4 little green boxes on the shelf to see if what is inside is same as PN as on outside. Normaly rubber compliance is rated in a durometer number, though depending on when these were molded, not sure how accurate that number still is.
