I'm about to do some work that will allow me to move the Xantrex Inverter (2kw/Pure Sine) to another palace in the coach.

The only reason I'm considering this is for better cooling.

It’s going to get used more than ever before since we are moving to a 110V compressor refrigerator.

Where have you mounted yours, and why? Thanks!

I have both my inverter and converter in the electrical compartment on my GM coach layout. Although that works fine for having short wire runs, it gets hot in there and many times I have to leave that compartment door open. On the passenger side I have an inverter in the refrigerator compartment so it is well ventilated to the outside. I'm not sure you have that many choices for good ventilation.

Dolph, Consider getting one of the cheap computer fan arrays and add additional cooling capability. You could even rig a thermostat to recognize a "turn on" temperature.

G'day Dolph,
We mounted our Xantrex upfront.http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/solar/p35730-going-solar.html.
It was a short run to the batteries, plenty of air, out of the way but still easy to check it's status.
Ours is old mod square wave technology, but it is left on 24/7, never missed a beat and with the solar we have got 10+ years out of our house batteries.

If your fridge is on the passenger side, this may work:

I also have a fridge/freezer on the driver side and that inverter is in the electric compartment and needs cooling as I mentioned in my previous post.

My house batteries are in the front so I mounted my Xantrex 2000w in the passenger compartment between the passenger seat and the sidewall. 12 ga armored cable runs through the sidewall from there to the electrical panel. A relay mounted in the panel box transfers selected outlets to the xantrex when it it activated.
