Daniel DeLuca wrote on Mon, 13 April 2015 16:49Hello,
Thanks to all your help, we have gotten the GMC to a point I consider "done" for now. This is just a slide show of the progress we made over the last 9 months. No ground breaking stuff for you craftsmen, but I am proud none the less.

Daniel,
Nice work. I also have a 10 foot paint job and get compliments constantly at gas stations. I think "Fat Joey" looks great. Have fun.

Matt,
I actually used the Preval aerosol sprayers you can buy at Home Depot. I'm sure that a good sprayer of any kind would have been better, but I think then Prevals work just as good or better then the cheap sprayer I would probably buy. I made myself crazy reading about paint types online. I finally just went to Sherwin automotive and just asked what I should use. I believe it is called dimension paint, but I can check tomorrow if you want. I am very happy with it. The first side has a few flaws, but looks good. I got better at it and the second side is pretty damn nice. The only problem is that the paint is not a perfect match. In certain light it is easier to tell. I'm not sure you can ever expect a perfect match though. Eventually I may repaint the entire bottom half. By far the hardest part was scraping the peeling paint and filling the gaps with primer. A simple re-spray over solid paint would not be too hard.
Keep in mind this is a quick and dirty paint job. If you don't expect too much from it you will be happy, but a little overspray, and a good number of imperfections are inevitable.

Outstanding! You have done a great job. Wife must be very happy.
Your signature should include your general location. Join a GMC club and show your baby off.
I am jealous of your paint job. Wish that I was just as brave.
