Hi,

just to verify my understanding:

The generator feeds 110V to the power outlets throughout the coach, to
the water heater, the roof a/c and the buzz box.

The buzz box charges the batteries.

There is no inverter on a "regular" GMC MotorHome.

That is correct there was no inverter as part of the original design. The “buzz box” is a simple 120VAC -> 12VDC converter that has the dual role of charging house batteries and powering 12V house loads like lighting, kitchen fan, water pump and in some cases the fridge.

The Progressive Dynamics boxes serve the same role as the buzz box…they just do it more elegantly.

Genau!

If your Eleganza still has the Buzz Box I would replace it, your GMC will be stored for long periods of time and if you leave it
plugged in (like I do with Double Trouble) it will boil the batteries dry and you'll be buying new batteries! Hopefully sometime
during the coach's life a PO will have replaced it with a converter like this:

It appears the converter is a factory refurbished unit, I am of the opinion that these units are better than new units as they had a
problem and were repaired and checked more carefully than a new unit.

Converter only charged the house battery in stock form unless a combiner has been added
