Dear Forum,
since my post on the topic of high-priced house with a too low garage entrance was ignored,
I post it again here, in hope someone will answer this:
What is the height of a GMC Motorhome
- with roof rack, roof A/C and roof box
- without all of the above
Thank you all,
Dominik

Though the ceiling height is a little low, as I can stand up in most areas,
wearing shoes, which puts me at something like 77" tall, and what's left of
my hair is not brushing the headliner. I suspect that is measured at the AC
vent.

Dominik,
From
You’ll see that from the factory - with the old factory air conditioner - the overall height is 9”2”.
With the added storage box on top who knows how high. I suspect a 10’ clearance would be sufficient though you may have to deflate the rear a bit.

Not sure if this is relevant... But if you want to know the lowest possible clearance you can go with ... we had to go through this very same thing a couple of years ago. If you let the air out of the bags and take off the top from the storage pod, and get the coach as low as it can go, the highest point at the AC unit is about 107 inches. I know this because my door is 107 inches, and I had to notch the trim at the top of the door about a quarter inch and the coach goes in. If I were to do this again, would definitely go with a 10' door, that way there's no way it can touch even with the storage pod.

I moved the header up to 9'9" , a 6" increase. I bought 2 new door panels from the original door co each 3" larger to get the 6". The old panel with glass lights at top, then two overheight panels, then the remaining old panels. Unless you study it, it looks perfectly normal. OEM Duotherms clear by about 3".

A GMC friend from New Jersey had done a similar "low roof" modification. Looks very much like Glyn's, but he used a boat trailer winch to power the roof lift.
