I think that all macerators were designed for boats - they need them to empty their holding tanks while they are in the water and the sewer dumps are above them. They should be the same size.

Dave,

It's 1 1/2"

Thirty bucks is a BARGAIN for a Jabsco macerator!

The number that most of us use is 18590-2092
This has an 1-1/2” inlet.

They also have a 3” inlet under a different number HOWEVER they both neck down to the same opening when they reach the impeller.

When you mount it be sure that the opening in the impeller is mounted at the bottom. Also, if you are going from a 3” pipe to a 1-1/2 pipe (or a rubber adapter) be sure to use an offset 3” to 1-1/2” adapter so that the tank is fully emptied. If you use a centered one it will leave some sewage in the tank.

Dave,

Here's a link to a photo album that shows what Emery has noted below regarding the macerator impeller inlet:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/g6005-macerator-innards.html

Here's the link for Valterra to the parts you might need:

http://www.valterra.com/RV/rv-main.htm

Here's a list of parts that I used to connect the macerator to the outlet of the long sweep "T" from Home Depot. The prices may not
be current.

T1003VPM = 3" valve with metal handle @ $14.16
T1005 = Slip hub flange @ $2.79
T1006 = Spigot flange @ $2.74
T-1041-1 = Eccentric 3" to 1 1/2" reducer @ $2.79 Total = $22.48
