Wal-Mart has the greatest number of outlets for service and sells a very good battery! Should last you at least three years and likely more!

My experience is that the Optima don't last any noticeably longer than the Everstart at Walmart. I have WM Everstart batteries in my 99 GMC pickup and 02 Ford Explorer. My GMC M/H has whatever was in it when I bought it in 2011.

Our 2012 Ford Flex (3y, 2m old) still has its original battery. I will buy a WM Everstart for the Flex when it becomes necessary.

I will buy a single WM Everstart for the GMC M/H when the installed pair go kaput. ONE should be sufficient for even a large block Olds engine.

At the risk of igniting a “discussion”, I’ve been using AGM Batteries with great success.

Sam’s Club - or Wal-Mart.

I’m about to replace the house batteries with AGM from Sams. They seem to do better when cycled deep… so said Mr. Peukert….

AGM for me too, MINI Cooper S battery is in the boot, and subject to cabin atmosphere, so it's a must. As for the coach I'm still on lead acid, but AGM yellow top in my future, unless unless Lithium mainstreams sooner than expected. My opinion, but AGM is safer, lighter, better cold start, vibration resistant...unfortunately they are not very tolerant of running to zero. Need to be stored in a charged state.

It was determined by a friend of mine who is looking after my GMC while
I am in Europe, that battery is totally toast... :( He had some kind of
special charger that he tried on it, without success. At least, the new
battery will take care of one less problem to think about :)

If by that do you mean utlizing the boost switch that locks on rather than is a momentary type?
Then yes it will charge but its not good to leave the solenoid energized and the batteries are paralelled

I meant ...bring out the cables and jump the GMC battery from the ol' pick
up while it's(the truck) running. Once started, leave it running for 15 to
20 minutes or take it for a trip around the block. Then shut it off and
see if it will start on it's own.
Since the owner isn't there, this seemed to be the easiest...with no
electrical measurements involved for a "sitter".

I have a 77 and the Boost Switch is spring loaded and won't stay in the
Boost position.

Wal-Mart for batteries. With more than 3,500 stores, they are everywhere. The no quibble replacement policy and the dated battery for warranty makes it a no brainer..
Tom, MS II

With 3 Wal-Mart batteries and 7 Wal-Mart tires.
