I generally don't shop around much. But yesterday I needed a radiator for my Chevy Astro Van. Auto Zone, and O Rieley's were the same price at $169. A local store to Iowa is Arnold Motor Supply. $119. Made in this wonderful USA. And they had it on hand. Don't write off the local stores. Bob Dunahugh 78 Royale Member GMCMI

Wait...there is something still made in this country?
You're right , sometimes you can be surprised. And I like to throw the local shops a bone now and then.
However, there is a lot to be said for online shopping...saves time, delivered to my door often free, and often saving on sales tax [for now]

I'll go 10% high to use a local merchant - and I include the GMC suppliers in the term 'local'. I also figure the value of my time - if it takes an hour to chase down a ten dollar part on the net, it probably wasn't worth the savings. The hour is better spent playing with the dogs, or fixing something I can fix.

I forgive them all, save those who hurt the dogs. They must answer to me in hell
