Just wondering if anyone knew if the ignition switch on our GMC's is 'hot' in the starting position? Or does it only get power through the starter solenoid while cranking? If it is only hot through the solenoid I'll have to address that issue in my swap.
Thanks, Hal

Hal, switch is hot when "on" and "start". On coaches originally fitted with
points ignition, a resistance wire was included in the harness to power the
ignition circuit. HEI equipped from factory coaches did not have the
resistance wire.

Thank you guys, that's just what I needed. It simplifies things for sure. I'd run into the problem with some early engine swaps but hadn't put the use of HEI as the defining issue. Great!
Thanks again, Hal
