Good morning all
Starting to bring back to life my second coach. She is a 1975
Glennbrook. First thing I need to do is change out the steering box.
Does any one have the N.A.P.A. part number for a rebuilt unit. Or do
you guys have a better source for the steering box. I change out the
box on my current coach and it was the best thing I did to this old girl
Thanks
Marcel

One of the first mistakes I made when I got the GMC was getting a rebuilt box from NAPA. Two had leaking issues right off so by then I had found the forum and sent the third to a rebuilder. He told me it wasn't in great shape but did what he could with it. I finally got one from Dave Lenzi and its great!.

Dave has a partner rebuilding the steering boxes so you should be able to get one at this point.

Hi Marcel,
If your box is original, do not give it up in exchange for a NAPA or other parts store box. The GMCMH box is unique to the motorhome. It would be OK to give it up to Dave L as his rebuilds are originals, so the box you get from him will be an original rebuilt. You can also send your box to Dave to be rebuilt and returned to you. There are other "fast ratio" aftermarket boxes out there that have been used with success. For more info, see this:

Marcel,

DO NOT trade your original steering box in if you decide you need to buy a new box from a non GMC Supplier. The only box you should get is the rebuilt box from Dave Lenzi. Our steering box is somewhat special inside. Dave’s box comes completely setup and centered.

Take a look at this Tech information.
