There ARE some of us who have NE USA backgrounds and favor teams from that area, Todd!

It WAS a truly super, Super Bowl game though, between truly worthy opponents! The best of the best!

(MY favorite teams are from Buffalo, Cleveland, and Boston)

I suspect that the Seattle coach figured the Pats would be super stacked against a run and took a chance on the pass play. Sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you.

The game was broadcast here yesterday morning and I watched a bit but got bored, Compared to rugby or Aussie rules the game is too
slow.

Line up
hike the ball
toss it or run around with it for a couple of minutes
tackle the guy with it
amble back behind the line of scrimmage
rest a bit while having a yak in a circle

Unfortunately they didn't show the best bit - the Budweiser commercial!

Watch a rugby or Aussie rules game and you see continuous action and none of that tossing the ball forward, you have to bash your
way down the field!

Plus those guys are real men they don't wear tons of protective gear just a jock, shorts, T-shirt, shoes, and socks.

Common misconception - in Rugby, you tackle the ball (as opposed to American Football, where you tackle the player).

Last I heard, there are no rules for Aussie rules football, so that could indeed be the case -

In neither case do you pass from the one yard line……...

Particularly with Marshaun Lynch as a running back at your disposal.
The patsy's couldn't stop him all day long, don't know why they didn't give
him the ball, deflated or not. (grin)

Agreed, rugby and Aussie rules players are smart enough not to do that because they know that could result in a concussion.

Oh yeah, here in Australia if they tried to sue their old team, the NFL, or anyone else they could blame for "head" problems twenty
years later they'd get laughed out of court!

I get that you're attempting to be folksy about this, though smart has
nothing to do with it, Rob. Akin to saying "real men" Aussie drivers are
smart enough to avoid car accidents. It just happens outside of the best
intentions.

Yeah, such suits were once laughable in the US also. That is until CTE
was
discovered postmortem in former players previously diagnosed with a variety
of mental illnesses. I fully admit that our current understanding of this
subject is far from definitive proof. Having played 12 years of organized
football, I, for one, will be watching the medical progression on this for
years to come.
