It's funny, the FB page seems to have very little overlap with this forum. People and coaches are coming out of the woodwork.
Given that, we'll see this video over and over again on FB.
More people seem to FB than use mail lists or forums now.

Very nice, I hadn't seen that one before. Ahhh, seeing the SOB on the RR ties gives me some insight to the ride quality I'll have with the Gulf Stream. #8^(
I think the GS will have a bit better ride; looks like the SOB had a solid front axle.

G'day,
Please be advised that the GMC Test Drive Video is on the two DVD set along with 12 others ALL of which are very interesting and
informative well worth the $39 plus postage!
I didn't have the WorkPrint DVD so I just ordered that one.
Here are some observations I made regarding the Test Drive Video:
1) Notice that they did the panic stop test on WET pavement; I guess they didn't want to show the significant weight transfer and
the rear tires smoking! ;-)
2) "A standard automatic height control system is designed to keep the vehicle level and the handling response consistent in spite
of normal variations in weight distribution."
3) The other brand motorhome going over the simulated railroad ties sure looks like a Winnebago Brave!

G'day,
If anyone is considering buying the two DVD set the quality of the other films is like the Test Drive Video.

Yes it is, good that you pointed that out Rob, It is no problem to watch, but if you did look for some 1080p HD.. well it is not
It was made for the small dealer movie boxes so do not run it on your projector and 130" screen

Espen,
Along with lots of tid bits about the GMC I get a kick out of the 1970's clothing fashions, such as the wide ties, flared trousers;
and white shoes some of the managers were wearing!

A few details about the "GMC Films"
The 13 GMC Motorhome films would have originally been seen in a GMC Motorhome Dealer's Showroom of the period. The original Mini Theatre projector/display/film library that I had, has been donated to the GM Heritage Center. Pictures of that Mini Theatre equipment is shown in my History CD (From Start to Finish)
and in one of my albums (wbryant)on bdubs site.
The motorhome under the cover going over the timbers was a Banner, not a Winnebago. The Banner was likely built using a Dodge chassis. The driver of many of these GMC Motorhome demonstrations was often Alex Birch. Alex and Bea Birch were wonderful members of the GMC MH community for many years (hoya hoya).
While the quality of these films is not the greatest by todays standards, it is all we have. I have three other films highlighting the GMC MH from the TV series, "Holiday on Wheels" but will not be making copies due to the poor quality of the films. If anyone knows of other better copies lets make it known.

Now widely known is the fact that Alex's grandson Greg is a dentist in Port
Angeles, WA. Great guy who owns, guess what: A Birchaven. His office
sits right on a cliff overlooking Strait of Juan de Fuca to British
Columbia. When we visited them in the summer of '13, they not only fed us
and let us park at their home, but let us spend a night with that wonderful
view.
Carrying on the great GMC traditions set by his grandparents.

Anthony,
An interesting video I had not seen before. Here is my take about it
None of the scenes are duplicated in either version. I believe it is not one of the actual three Holiday on Wheels TV shows, but I believe it is out takes from the, "Florida: Keys to the Botanical Kingdom" TV show and here is why.
Both videos were hosted by Gordon MacRae and produced by Art Rouse, publisher of Trailer Life.
Both videos used a unique Palm Beach MH Probably an early 1975. The first magazine ad for a Palm Beach was early 1975 and used the "same" model with no spare tire and
a single dark green stripe (no smaller second smaller stripe on the front).
The three videos listed below had formal titles, identified personnel responsible for the film, and information about the production.
FYI: Titles for the three Holiday on Wheels videos are,
Massive Majestic Monument Valley.
Florida: Keys to the Botanical Kingdom.
New Englands Windjammer World.
Thanks,
Bill Bryant

I have a VHS copy somewhere from which I made a DVD copy.
Background:
Years ago at a GMCMI rally the friend of a Great Laker/GMCMI member showed his 16mm film of the 3 GMC/Holiday on Wheels film. I asked him to make a few VHS copies so some of us could have access to the film. He made copies, I bought one, unfortunately I don't remember the names of those people. I remember Gary/Kara Kosier were there and may remember the story and the Great Laker member. Another possibility is a copy may have been given to Ralph Luby and it ended up in GMCMI's files, a request to Kim Weeks for a check for it might be worth a look.
Edit note:
Just found the VHS tape and I had written the name of who I got it from on the label, Jim Gibson. Believe he passed away a few years ago.
