Has anyone seen crushed or restricted brake lines in the rear from the deterioration of the body to frame pads. If so what do you think would be the symptoms created?

I know that this is one of the first things that JimB looks for when a coach comes in for r&r. Crushed lines are a problem but I can't speak to symptoms.

On my 76 Royale, there is a u-shaped channel in the aluminum body where the rear brake lines cross the steel frame. Even if the body cushions were missing it wouldn't affect the brake lines. There is another channel that protects the hoses to the fuel liquid-vapor separator. I don't know if other model coaches are the same.

No.
If you are having trouble with your rear brakes releasing, check for
restriction in the rubber hoses. They are known to de-laminate on the
inside, thereby creating a makeshift check valve.

You beat me to it. My Royale is the same. Someone was thinking when they built these things.

G'day,

Can't say that I've remember anyone here ever mentioning crushed brake lines, however, crushed air suspension lines has been noted
many times.

I worked on a coach that had the vent line on top of the forward gas tank
crushed. Vent line was for the evaporator.

Some coaches do not have the spacer holding up the body for the brake, air
lines back there. Body pads cause more problems than brakes. Everything
has to go back and for the between the body and frame. Gene was right
though, wasted hoses are the #1 reason for brakes sticking. If the
shoulder where the bolt goes through the middle of the rear brake hose
assembly is rounded -- brother those are 30+ year old hoses. Getm outa
there!
