Just came back from a weekend in Marina, Ca and passed a gmc in distress. The drivers side rear wheel was off and the bogie was badly bent outward. I couldn't stop as I was with a group but when asked I could not think of how that could have happened.

Maybe backed into a curb at an angle while turning around? All I can think of.

Perhaps a rotted out frame member at the mounting point exacerbated with a
pot hole or curb?
