Ray,

Welcome to the group, family, cult, asylum....

What you may not know is that the forum is a mirror of the e-mail list engine. So, roughly half the members receive e-mail in chronological order and the other half get to look up messages on the forum. The real reason that this matters is that if you want a new topic, then start one. They don't cost anything and it will make later reference to your subject much easier to locate at some later date. Changing the subject does not automatically start at new topic. On the forum, you do that at the top of the page.

Next thing, though the participants to the site are all vetted and in actual fact we know most of each other by name, there are some that are not and some that have read the forum in the past were spambots that collected @ddresses and phone nrs. To this end, if you choose to post either, just queer it up a little so it does not fit the template that spambots use. They are persistent, but not very smart, so if you spell the delineators of and @ddress or number for a phone, they won't find it.

And lastly, but not least by any means. You are now part of a community like few others. These are friendly helping people. This is one of the reasons that a good sigfile (like you have) is such a help. The only time before that I was part of a community such as this, was in all my prior life as a waterman. For this reason, I like to welcome new people here much as any new owner or vessel would be welcomed there. So,

May the Good Lord bless this coach and all those that set forth within her.

Welcome Ray

Matt

Matt,
I am currently learning how to navigate thru this site. I have never participated any chat rooms, forum sites, face books or other types of open communication. I just found your much appreciated, posted greeting. Please bear with me as I stumble into the 21st century.

I figured the best way to do it is to just do it. So that being said, I hope I don't mess up to many threads or appear rude. Just let me know if I am doing something wrong and will correct.

I am still working but plan to retire shortly. My Wife and I are going to retire full time in a 76 Edgmonte. We previously owned a 75 Glenbrook for about 15 years. I did all my own work on the coach. Changed, repaired, and replaced most of the usual stuff. Got tired of working on the GMC. Decided to get something new and save the hassle. We got a Road-Trek on the Sprinter Chasse with the Mercedes diesel. Kept it one year and decided that the GMC was a lot, lot more motorhome. Last month we lined up 6 GMCs to look at between WI and FL. We did a two week turn and burn. Bought a Texas coach at Jeff Sirums, stopped at Jim Bounds on the way back, and plowed thru 3" of snow to return to Ladysmith, WI. The Edgemonte we purchased has a strong engine and transmission, Alco's and a like new frame. Everything else can, and probably will be changed. GMCers are like that

There are so many things change, and the research takes a lot of time. One quickly finds out that there is no right way of doing anything. Everyone does what works the best for them. Generator, no generator, LP, no LP, transformer, no transformer, furnace, no furnace, ect. Nothing but options and an entire community to support you no matter which way you go. This is fantastic!!

It is currently snowing out, We have a foot of snow on the ground and on the motorhome parked in it's spot next to the garage. A portable heater makes interior work possible. Today I start removing the cabinets. I will start at the top and work my way down. Celling needs to come off to check for insulation and leaks.

Thanks again for the welcome and tips. I will probably have more questions when I get some time.

I wish to take this time to wish You, your Family, and Everyone on this Forum, a Merry Christmas and Happy, healthy, New Year.

Sincerely,
Ray and Sandy Radwanski

Well, a very warm welcome to you.

Ask all the questions that you want and you will probably get 5 different answers to each of them.

Do not worry much about proper etiquette or spelling errors. We usually figure it out in the end.

Welcome!!

Ken,
Thanks for the welcome. The trouble with is site is that I spend a lot of time reading and not much is getting done on my rebuild project. If we don't get too much snow tomorrow, we plan on going to Rheinlander to look at cook tops and ceiling material options.

I need to find the sources of two leaks for sure. I have one leak on the range vent flange. On our last coach I sealed it and glassed over it. We did not miss it. I don't know if that is a good idea yet.

If any one has an opinion on this I would be glad to hear.

At any rate, thanks for the welcome.
Ray R.
