Just got home from the Chicago show. 3:00AM. Just beat the snow. But not the rain. Got the GMC washed. And put away in it's nice warm winter parking spot. This show is one of the major indoor car shows in the nation. There were cars from 32 states. They had over 41,000 come in the gate. The GMC display with our 78 Royale was a huge success. I had lines most of the time to go through it. There were so many positive comments to the show management. They already invited me back next year. They have a policy of not bringing the same cars back any closer then 2 years. They said that the GMC display was so much of a draw. They think it needs to be there next Nov. Then if that wasn't enough. A photographer from Hemming classic car magazine took lots of shots that he would like to see used in a feature story on our GMC. At the awards presentation came the real shock. My 69 Goodyear tire test Yenko Stinger Placed second in it's class. That was a week end. Bob Dunahugh

Congratulations - all your hard work paid off, big time.

I'll ask the standard question. Got pictures?

Now for the important question. Did the cruise control work?

great job, we need more of this. Right now the GMC is being exposed on TV
and other places. He's right for wanting to do some exposure in Hemmings,
good luck...

Way to go Bob!

Glad that GMCMI could assist you with this project but you are the one that pulled it off and you did a Super job.

We'll have you give a report to the Board at Patterson, LA in March. You did exactly what you told us you wanted to do.

This will go a long way toward creating awareness of our Classic GMC motorhomes. Now let's see if we can work on some of your other ideas that you had presented to the Board during this last year.

As for photos. That will be coming. A friend took some for me. As I didn't remember to my camera. ( SMART MOVE ON MY PART ) GMCMI now has some great show boards, and a banner that could be loaned for shows. Exposure brings membership, and values up. It's just that simple. My goal this last year was to get some ground work done to get my GMC on the cover, and. or in feature stories in magazines. We all will gain from this exposure. I'm hoping to get 2 magazine covers with stories this year. I did the same thing with my COPO Yenko Stingers. Been on 3 magazine covers with inside stories. Two TV features, and displays in 3 museums. It all starts small. I'm now using my Yenkos to get attention on GMC's. Anyone can do it. You just need some imagination, a little time, and an angle. Should anyone want to participate in a show, get hold of me and I will
reimburse up to $30 for being there.
We need to advise people to go to Craig's list for source of coaches and
price range.

I have a photo of the entire show display. Can I send it to someone to post at the top of our daily postings? Bob Dunahugh

Thanks Billy for putting that up for me. And thanks to all the nice comments. Never camped in a convention center ballroom before. That was truly interesting. And a BIG thanks to the GMCMI board with their help. Bob Dunahugh
