No Rob, the Panasonic Inverter units are the bad actors drawing waaaay more amps than the rating on the plate. The plate rating is after the microwave has been running for THREE HOURS!!!! Prior to that time they draw close to double the plate rating. The Sharp non-inverter units seem to do just fine.

Jerry,

I have been going through old emails since I got back to Australia and ran across this one. I have the same problem in Double
Trouble:

1) Two six (6) VDC Trojan deep cycle batteries wired in series to the inverter through a 150 amp circuit breaker
2) Xantrex SW2000 Inverter
3) 0 AWG copper wire from McMaster Carr (Red / Black / Green insulation)
4) Copper connections crimped then soldered
5) 30 amp Automatic Transfer Switch that feeds power from the inverter to one wall plug only
6) Ordinary three conductor house hold wire (12ga) from the Xantrex to the ATS to the wall plug
7) Sharpe Model R820JS

Is this the same microwave that's causing your problem?
