David,
This video is BS! First of all note how he slams the simulated poop on the bottom of the tank with a spatula and he throws the wet
paper on the wall of the tank. THEN he bakes on to the bottom in the hot sun!
Is this what happens in your GMC - NO WAY! When you poop the toilet bowl has water in it and a mix of water and poop get flushed.
Does it stick to the bottom, I don't think so, poop floats - remember the scene in Caddy Shack?
Our tanks contain 40 gallons of water and when you dump most of it will exit via the 3" dump or the macerator, there will be some
lumps that might get left behind. Will they be stuck to the bottom of the tank - doubtful.
Also the black tank in a GMC is WAY different from the one pictured, it is much more shallow (max 6") and much wider side to side (5
feet - GUESSTIMATE!) and longer front to back (3 feet - GUESSTIMATE!)
As the GMC drives the ice cubes will gain more speed when turning and stopping which will have a scrubbing action.
I did discover something the first time I did this and that is to add the ice cubes slowly so they don't fill the toilet bowl and
tube that connects it to the black tank!

Rob M.

I've done icecubes and dishwashing detergent, mixed, in a GMC tank
before installing my macerator and 7 years later when checking the
macerator for possible issues. Like rubbernecking while driving past a
car accident, I had to shine my flashlight down the open hole - just to
see. Clean a whistle in that tank, both times.
Ice works fine. He did it stupid.
Lies, damn lies and statistics - and poorly done experiments.

Well he did say he was trying to simulate worst conditions of a black tank which had been used for a while with the drain valve open. With my macerator I would want to be sure the ice was all melted before I pumped.

A real test would be to compare it to no ice cubs at all.
Which one works better?
I'd bet ice helps, I sure thought it did something.
I also think there should have been more water in the tank, and probably some soap
