hi all, new member here. Im interested in a GMC 26' that has # TZE166V902114
can anyone here tell me what year it is? from the info Ive found so far this serial number doesnt make sense.
its a rough coach that has been sitting in a field for over 10yrs, current owner bought it for parts. only missing its diff/final drive so I guess thats what he needed it for.
I just cant make sense of the serial number and some info for decoding serial numbers indicates it is a '76 but the side plate by the door doesnt.
can anyone clarify this for me?
thanks

Should be a 1976
I expect the #9 is really a 1 , here is what the serial decodes to.
T = Manufactured by General Motors
Z = 3 Axle Motorhome
E = Gasoline Engine
1= GM Interior from 1975 to 1978
6 = Model 260(26 feet long)
6 = Model Year(1976)
V = Manufacturing Plant Code Pontiac, Michigan
9 = (this is a 1 All production started with "1")
0 = all GMC Motorhomes had a zero in this position
2114 = Production sequence number
You should check the serial number on the plate under the right side hood and also look in the glove compartment, if it has not been removed, there will be a build list that details production information.
Good luck.

Unless he is paying you to take it, this may become a very big hole to fill with greenbacks. Rough but running coaches are well under $5k.
