Attempting to un-do P.O. 12v eletrical re-wiring. Of course, he left no notes.
Where was the OEM Buzz Box located as finished by Avion? P.O. Put a very nice one under the seat area behind the driver's seat. Lightening storm took it out, plus two batteries. The converter manufacture is gone.
Probably easier to return to OEM location than to figure out P.O. Design.
Have new Iota box.

Tom,
In our Avion the converter is located on the bottom shelf, left side of the cabinet under the sink.

Tom,

You going to be at the GMCMI Convention? If yes I'll show you a neat place to put a PD 9260. If not give me a call and I'll 'splain
it to you.

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the installation.

Tom -
Norris fitted a Trippp - Lite in my coach. Since it has a solar charger and panel for the house batteries, I've seen no reason to replace it, although I did replace the fuse panel in it due to loose rivets on the fuse clips. I travel with a Progressive 60 amp unit I've never needed to install. I've delayed using it because it has moving parts (fan) in it. My experience has been, the fans eventually fail, and the heat damages the electronics. The Tripp-Lite has a huge ferro-resonant transformer (think Sola) which regulates reasonably well. If I ever go back to the battery charged by the 12 volt supply, I'll put the Progressive box in, I suspect the Tripp - Lite would eventually do the house battery dirt.

Johnny,

I installed the PD-9260 four or five years ago so far so good.

Does your coach have power on it when you're out of the country? Mine is always plugged to shore power when it isn't rolling. My problem is, I'll forget to look at the fan, exacerbated by large amounts of BWD fur which gets into everything. Plus I'm a Luddite of majopr proportions Smile

Johnny,

Just before I leave I service the two house batteries under the passenger side bed, the house and start battery under the passenger
side hood using the remote filling kit.

The coach is plugged in and the PD-9260 supplies power to all the batteries through a combiner while I'm gone. It is located under
the shelf under the sink in the bathroom and I have never looked at the fan since I installed it four years ago. Hmmmmmm maybe I'd
better do so.

Well, I have 110AC fans in my eciters which run forever (25+years) but the DC ones in other equipment don't seem to do as well, even with ball bearings. I haven't looked closely at my PD, before I put it in I'll check to see if the fan is DC or AC. If it's DC, I'll replace it with an AC basll bearing one and it should last till it gets plugged with dog fur. DigiKey has fans in every size, voltage, and air flow - I buy a lot from them. Every two years I get two dozen Orion 0D6025-12HB units and replace all the fans in our microwave systems because they're mission critical. Costs about nine bux for a pair, they're two to a transceiver.
