When the Henderson's got to our house yesterday, ken had a flat spotted tire that was driving him nuts. We took the spare to pep boys and got a new one. Head out this am and ken calls saying we needed to find a pep boys because the thump is worse. It in Sunday am so I suggested he put my new spare on. We story at the Kentucky welcome center and change them out. Five miles on and its worse so we stop again and ken does a serious tire check to find a badly separated tire on the left front. On goes the new pep boys that was on my spare. Five miles and ken is a happy camper.

Made it to my cousins in Murphysboro I'll. Dropped the toads to find my Saturn's battery was dead dead. Battery is four + years old. Charging and have jumper cables so we'll roll on. I will start it and let it run while we stop. It hasn't been driven much and might not have been fully up. Nice dinner with kin folks. On to Bloomington ILLINOIS and find a campground tomorrow. Heading up us51 instead of interstate.

My ac was cycling and we added duracool. Good day!

Murphysboro is within spitting distance of my stomping ground as a kid.

We stayed at a campground in Lincoln, IL. Quiet and small but a bit out of
the way, perhaps.

We spent two nights in Mequon, WI with former GMCers, the Garmans.

At present we are in the Wisconsin Dells area. Getting closer to Chippewa
Falls.

Martha's pancakes and bacon on Saturday AM. Not planning on sausage this
time since it doesn't move like the bacon does.

Interesting story about which tire was the real problem. Goes to show you
that things aren't always what you think -- at first.

Kerry,
Take with as many grains of salt as you would like . . . It seems like starting batteries nowadays (especially 4 year old ones) are real intolerant of being run "dead, dead". And, to make matters worse, they seem to go quickly from starting okay to completely flat, sometimes in a matter of hours. So, keep the jumper cables nearby, as you probably have a 50% chance of a new battery in your near future.

If you are towing with a brake buddy, roadmaster even brake or similar unit any extended distance you need a charge line from the coach to the toad battery or the toad battery will go dead dead. A new battery will last a bit longer but if you don't have a charge line you need one. This is why a lot of folks put the brake unit in the toad and don't plug it in.

51 hiway north from 57 is a nice traveling rd. For motor homes. Teri and I have taken it many times. Y'all may be the closest group coming near us as you travel north. We are about 70 miles west of there. Could have waited for you there and waved as you passed by had we known. You have passed right by arch's home, just outside of desoto. Have fun. Hope to see you in Louisiana this spring, at the other end of the big mighty muddy Mississippi.

I know many of you are on the way and maybe even close to Chippewa Falls, but DO NOT come in to the rally site until Wednesday. We will NOT be ready for you to park. If you come on Tuesday, you will be turned away. OK to come on Wednesday IF you are signed up and paid for "Early Arrival". PLEASE ARRIVE ON THE DAY THAT YOU SIGNED UP FOR.

Sorry about this, but setting up for parking here is a challenge. We could not start setting up here because the annual "October Fest" occupied the grounds through Sunday. Today (Monday) we start setup for parking.

Thanks for you cooperation.

Good morning,

Sorry about the premature message from the Convention.

Early arrival to the convention does begin on Wednesday at 1pm. Many of you
have registered to come in and if you have allowed extra day(s) for travel
and are running ahead, please do not hesitate to come in. We will still be
setting up the buildings, etc. but do come early and enjoy the Chippewa
Falls area. Take one of the many tours available in the area. One of them
is at the Leinenkugel Brewery. I do recommend that you make reservations.
It makes it easier. Reservations can be made at *1-888-534-6437.* We look
forward to see you starting at 1pm Wednesday.

Safe travels and see you soon!

Today was stunning. US 51 north is a beautiful road and the weather was amazing. Never turned on the AC or heat. Beautiful beautiful drive.

Kens luck continues. He lost an alternator this afternoon. Found an Advance and got his replacement alternator. He is putting it on now.

My battery was bad although it started this evening so I got a new one.

Another great day on the road in the GMC.

I wonder if a small 5 watt solar panel would keep the toad batteries happy?

The air is not 50% water like you're used to in AL.

Eugene,

FB is a real PITA to post any thing more than a snide remark.
I will never post to Youtube again now that they have revealed that they are anti-law and anti-white.
That kind of limits the options.
