GMC tries to go the salt desert to beat the world record, and it rains:

now we have another GMC owner trying to make his fortune renting GMC's for the burning man festival. and that seems to be starting out poorly:

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2014/08/25/burning-man-closed-rain-la-playa-nyd/14592077/

When I think about it, there has been plenty of time spent in the GMC this summer during some pretty heavy rain storms. Past three weekends in fact, had heavy overnight rains saturday night, and three weeks back, I had to drive home in a storm on sunday when my windshield wipers broke.

would hate to see Dave spend all the time and money getting those basket case GMC's he rescued all the way out to his ranch, to only have them stuck. GMC I would not be something I would want to drive on a muddy desert!

Unfortunately the argument falls apart when you consider a huge proportion of known useable GMCs right now can be found in California. That being said, we're planning a trip all next week down to the AL gulf coast and the long range forecast is looking decidedly wet...

I don't know if GMCs cause rain, but I do know for a fact that killing turkeys causes cold weather. Smile

Our first few trips in the GMC saw rain each night. We were sort of sad the first night it didn't rain. We like to hear it on the roof.

Our second coach has seen some rain and we have found an oddity. Of course, it leaks; that goes without saying. In the bedroom, in the cabinet above our feet (rider's side, rear corner of the coach) anything under the middle shelf gets wet. We have learned to pull sweatshirts out and put a bowl in the back corner of the cabinet. The things on the shelf above stay dry.

I have looked and looked. I do know water runs down hill. But it remains a mystery. It drips into a bowl under the shelf.

So, maybe GMC's cause rain. Maybe ours has special water tunneling capabilities...

We just took our inaugural trip with the Tidewater Crabs group. Yep, it rained just about every minute until the morning we left.

I had a leak on the passenger side by the corner next to the big rear window. It was the clearance light seal failed. sealed it all up and no more leak. The upright supports for the rail are good for drips too.
