There have been plenty of questions about batteries and I hate to add another to the list, but I didn't find my answer when searching for it.
My PO had installed a deep cycle marine battery for the house battery. It will now no longer hold a charge, so I am going to replace it with 2 6v golf batteries.
So, are there recommended brands or sources of these batteries? How big are they? My house battery is located up front with my starter battery, so space 'may' be tight.

Bob,
I feel that when it comes to golf cart batteries, most of the manufactures
use the same specification.
Trojen makes and caters to the golf courses.
We have noticed that it take more time to fully charge them.
The height of the battery is about 9 3/4" high, but the base is standard.
One thing for sure, never let a battery sit uncharged, as sulfation will
ake place and it will be the end.
We have a charger in our shop that will desulfate the batteries, but never
sure that all the cells get equal treatment.

There is room on the passenger side between the tire and the hood for a starting battery and 2 golf cart batteries. The golf cart batteries are kind of heavy so I set my set up as follows. Remove the wheel liner for access after you install battery trays put the 2 golf batteries in first then the starting battery in last close to the tire. Then put the wheel liner back in place. You can add water to the cart batteries from under the hood and the starting from the tire well with the liner off or from under the hood reaching way in there. This is the way mine has been for some time my tool box is where the 8D battery used to be. I also have room for 4 quarts of oil and tire chains next to the cart batteries. Change the batteries when needed from the tire well the cart batteries are too heavy to lift through the hood access although that is the way I did it before I got smarter.
