Thanks for the input to all

I realize the coach is FWD...no offense taken on that. The PO put new front tires before I purchased it. The rearmost tires appear new and I will double check the date to be sure. The front rear tires look old and dry and those are the ones that I plan on replacing(at the very least) I do realize the importance of tires. Will do the same for the spare. I believe Alcoa's are 16" but will confirm when I get home after a 96 hour shift. Additionally the PO stated he put a wider tire in the front so that I would drive better. I know nothing about that, the few short trips I have taken on the interstate the coach drives well although I does tend to have a rear sway going down the road, not unlike driving a fire engine on the freeway. I Plan on taking a long trip this labor day weekend to Central California and will have more information on how it drives for long stretches on the interstate(long for us-not for you road vets)

So, do I replace the front rears and put the new tires on this set or install the new set on the rear as I will replacing with the same size(the fronts are wider, that much I know)

I have seen that some of you out there run down the road with the onan going for coach a/c as the dash air is not that great. I plan on doing the same ...any info/tips on this?

Going up the grade..Super Drive the best option? I saw a coach last week on the I-5 northbound that appeared to have overheated.

Any and all tips are appreciated as we get to know each other(the coach and I) I read the forum and get all kinds of good info from the group.

Sir the date codes will probably be on the inside stamped. if 3 #s they are 99 and older 4 #s is 00 and newer. First 2 #s is week made last #s year, ie: 1113 is made 11th week of 2011. If something is noticeable, replace it. The back rears are the ones that flat spot. Under hard braking they lift. Welcome to the net. In my opinion the only dumb question is the one you don`t ask.

Sergio,
Discount/America's Tire Company has a store on Plaza in National City- you can probably walk there from the fire house. Another at 600 Broadway in Chula Vista and one on Palm at I-5 in Imperial Beach.

I bought 225/75/16 load range E Cooper's less than a year ago for $97 each. The store had to order them I but for that price I was happy to wait a few days. I have about 6000 miles on the tires now and I can't tell any difference except price from the Bridge Stones or BFG's that I ran before.

Sergio,

Let's start over with the basics.
1/ What are the sizes and date codes on all tires (including the spare).
2/ Replace the two oldest tires with the two new ones you want to buy. ...
If the two fronts turn out to be the same size as the rears, mount the
new in the front and rotate the old fronts back to the front/rears.
keeping the rotated tires on the same side of the coach. Thus dropping
the oldest tires out the rear.
3/ On climbing grades. ..... Start in Drive(D) when you get down to about 50mph
manually shift down to Super(S). If your speed drops to below 45mph turn
on your flashers. If I remember correctly, if you can't pull in S above about
20 to 25mph, shift down to low (L) and walk it up watching your engine and trans
temps. In 12 years I've only had to pull a grade in Low once. JWID-you may vary.
4/ I run down the road w/ the gen. on for roof A/C and to keep the beer cold in the
fridge. Only uses about 2/3 a gal. of fuel per hour.
