Then I might have a tip for you.

I am on my way to order one and found out that many had problems with noise from the unit, not on the inside but outside, other campers where complaining and so on.
Well there is a solution, part number 1472B5041 which is a fan kit the will greatly reduce the noise, Airxcel takes $ 18 + shipping for it.

And of course so do Airxcel not mount it on the units they make now as far as I know..

Oh well I have finally made my mind up to order one, any good tips on where to buy it ? I am at $ 1384 at american rv company with shipping for a 15000 btu heat pump with condeser pump, plenium, heat strip, new fan and a wall mounted thermostat that will control the furniace..

I Googled on "airxcel" and the part number. The forum post already showed up on the seach less than 15minutes after it was posted on the forum. I don't know if this is incredible or scary. Shades of 1984 and Brave New World.

We have two. When I run these in the barn with the metal ceiling the noise is incredible. Gonna order two of these kits but I really feel Airxcel should be offering these as a warranty item.

I agree with you.. totaly.

I got some news today regarding the Mach 8 from one of the resellers I sent a price quote : 1472B5041 ??.?? The manufacture says they have been putting this on all new units within the last month or so. It is very likely that yours would ship with this already installed. I would make sure you got one of the new ones.
