Anyone know of a direct replacement part number for the dome light switch, the one above where the driver sits? This is for a 1977, if it matters.

I've seen people replace it with a modern swivel type maplight.

The dome light switch above the drive is the same switch that is over the passenger side front seat. But they are wired differently. They are double throw with center off. The one over the driver works off the engine battery when in one direction in conjunction with the head light switch and when switched the other way works off the house batteries. I think the one over the passenger side only works off the house batteries. Coach isn't here right now so I couldn't check but that's how I remember them working. Ours wasn't working property but once we cleaned it (we unplugged the connections, cleaned them and put dielectric grease on them) and knew where the power was coming from and knew we had power it worked fine. If the headlight switch isn't turned all the way to the left so there's power running up to the light the switch won't seem to be working but it might be just fine.

Mine both work off the chassis battery. One direction is on, the other direction is controlled by the headlamp switch dome lamp detent and center is off.

If yours is wired that way it much have been done by the prior owner.

My 1977 Kingsley is wired like the factory did it. Center is OFF, one way from center is ON (from the engine battery) and the other way off center is controlled on and off by rotating the headlight switch.
