I'm going to install Carter 4070 (not in tank) dual fuel pumps and will need check valves upstream of the pumps. What is everyone using?

When we had 4070's I left the selector valve downstream of the pumps in service. It worked for years that way even though the valve specs say not for pressure.

Kerry,

I just picked a couple from McMaster-Carr with Viton seals for about $5
each. They go into a tee just forward of the two pumps and thence forward
to the accumulator tank. I'm not sure the 4070's need backflow protection
but I don't know what pump I may have to install on the road in the future
so decided to use suspenders.

Ken,
What was the MC part number for the check valves?

Sorry, John. I don't keep invoices & it's been over 2 years since the
order so McM has purged the history. You'll just have to choose to fit
your available fittings. The price is double+ what I remembered, too.

Glad I asked Dr. Ken. A couple problems with what I posted previously.

1- we need 1/4" fittings, not 3/8. DUH I knew that.
2- Ken isolates his check valves from the pump vibrations by mounting them to the T via rubber hoses on barbed adapters so the one I selected was 'backward'

Ken told me that this one:

http://www.mcmaster.com/#7768k62/=szqu9p

looked like it would do the trick. 7768K62

Since I want to do it like Ken H did, I ordered two check valves, a brass T and some barbed fittings from McMaster-Carr. Probably be here Monday and that will give me time to get everything mounted.
