I wish I had 20 pounds of it just to have on hand but they don't sell it up here.

Arlington, WA

Thanks for letting me know it is compatible though.

What is the going price for Duracool off the parts store shelf?

Should be around $10 per 6 oz can, and you will need 3 cans. If you can't find it locally, you can buy direct:

http://ww8.aitsafe.com/cf/add.cfm?userid=A0114205&product=Single+can+of+Duracool+Refrigerant+F006&hash=0ca213a6cb63398cf553070f39d666a1&pr ice=8.99&scode=Single_Can&return=www.duracool.com/ecom/shoppingcart.html

Stay legal my friends.

Are you attached to the EPA in any way shape or form including previous employment.

Sorry, my father is a police officer and he says that would be a good way to flush out any legal troubles. That phrase can be used for a lot more problems, just substitute EPA for FBI, CIA law enforcement etc, etc.

I am not attached to any law enforcement component. Anyway, Duracool would be outside of CIA jurisdiction, and I am pretty sure the EPA and FBI have other stuff occupying their resources than someone putting a propane/butane mix in their automotive AC systems.

The only thing I would add to what Ken Henderson said would be that converting to R-134a without actually charging it would almost certainly be what EPA would call a "sham" conversion.

Read the FAQ and decide what is right for you.

You worry too much what is a couple ounces of propane compared to a big tank of propane in the rear compartment ? To be honest I prefer R12 but if I don't have it I'll be damned if I will pay $30 each for some small bottles of R12 . I used to buy R12 for $1 a pound in 30 lb cylinders.

So was that a joke or an attempt to have us conform to your beliefs?? Hopefully it was a joke because the other is not acceptable to most of us.

Was what a joke? The part about reading the EPA FAQ, or the "stay legal my friends"?
