Hello,

I am pitting new shocks on the coach. The kby shocks I bought don't have bushings. I'm I correct in assuming standard shock bushings are appropriate?

Like this http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000CN5GH2/ref=pd_aw_sims_1?pi=SS115&simLd=1

Also I have the coach on stands and the knuckles off on the front. While I have lifted the lower control arm to unload the old shock and remove it, would it be okay to essentially hang the lower control arm from the new shock. Will this overextend the shock.

Actually I think the shocks have bushings, I was expecting them to be more "external" based on the old shocks on the coach.

Hanging the suspension from the shocks will not be a problem--they are designed for full rebound load.

State the brand, but KYB and Bilstine on the front does not use bushings,
just gromets.
Yes, you can hang the wheel and asssembly and lt the shock take the full
load.
The rar shocks come with a bolt/bushing for the upper.
Back in 1983, Wes C. influnced Bilstine to supply the rear shocks with a
bolt,washer/nut with slightly machined bolt assembled to aleviate the
chance of it loosening.
Up tilll then we were having problems.

Sorry, I did not read your comment carefully, KYB comes with grommet, so you received a use on, I think.
Those urethane bushings will work.
I know you did not purchase them from us.
Where did you get them?

Jim,

Got them from amazon, one of the first things I bought when I was still a Prime member. I guess you get what you pay for. You may be right that they are open box (at least the front struts) I am still very very confused. At the attachment points the shocks have a ring and a small tube that goes through the ring. The originals had rubber over this tube and when you bolted them on a washer would press into this rubber. These just have the tube, should their be rubber grommets over the tube?

Yes, there should be a grommet with it.
Go to our site www.appliedgmc.com under suspension and see the picture.
You can enlarge the picture by keying on it few times.
I'm not knowledgeable to cut and paste,
Sad, when this Asian can't drive and also not able to maneuver the computer.
