and they take it as license to send you unsolicited, deliberately deceptive spam mailings. I just received one today that is a life insurance policy thinly disguised as a "renewal" for your "current policy", which of course I don't have.

AAA is a great service when you need it. This is just an embarrassment. They should be ashamed.

Yeah that happens to me too Dave, I just click it as junk but I do understand where you are coming from.

Happens a lot these days across multiple organizations, not just AAA. A good word of advice for the older but wiser users is don't ever give your email to a website...... any website...... unless you see the little green-gold lock at the end of the web address. That lock lets you know that it is a secure connection.

Started this post about 20 minutes ago and then got a call from Jim Guise to borrow his Hupy bleeder.

Gonna be on our first trip in 2 weeks. 66 miles there, 66 miles back. Kulshan Campground at the Dam at Baker Lake.

I went through that BS last winter after someone posted my email address on the forum. The heavy spam traffic died off after about 4 months.

Most places where I sign up for things and they require an email, I give them refused@refused.net . If that does not work then I give them refused@Google.com. I figure that one of the largest spam providers on the planet can use some inbound email.

Yes, but where will I be without a chance to transfer millions from a dying potentate represented by Dewy, Cheatum and Howe in Outer Transteckistran.

I have several email addresses I used for 'required' email. Never check them, never use them. Just a big black hole for all the BS to go into.

My pet peeve is response cards in magazines. They make it hard to read the magazine and sometimes cause the staples that hold the magazine together to pull out when you rip the cards out. When I've feeling particularly irritated, I'll gather up all of them and drop them in the mail without filling them out. I figure that if the advertisers get enough blank ones they'll get the idea they are not an efficient way to advertise. Plus the post office needs the business. Shocked Laughing

Tape them to a brick and drop them in a mail box. The post office has to deliver them and collect the postage.

You think AAA is bad? Try Good Sam. Never again. My mailbox was flooded for months with junk mail. They were the worst I've ever seen.
