We left Naples, FL for a month long excursion. Our route went as follows:

Drove to Chicago, IL. Parked the motorhome at the McCormick Place Truck Yard (3050 S Lakeshore Drive - 312.808.3161) for $30/day. Open 24 hours, gigantic lot for parking anything and everything.

Left Chicago and went north through Wisconsin into the UP. Stayed at a campground in Munising on Lake Superior.

Left Munising and came down over the Mackinaw Bridge and stayed at a campground on Lake Huron looking out to Mackinaw Island and the bridge.

Came back down into Detroit.

Left Detroit for Naples.

Thankfully there were only minor issues to report..

-Actuator rod from ignition tumbler let loose. Had to replace the ignition switch and start the coach using an allen wrench. (thanks as always John Sharpe!!)

-Brake light flickers on and off.. likely connection issue in drivers side front wheel.

-Engine water light still stays on most of the time.

-Dash blower motor connection broke.

As always, life is more than mpg, but..

Total Miles = 4,150
Total Gallons of Fuel = 527
Total Fuel Cost = $1,952.45
Avg MPG = 7.87

And a quick personal story..

As a kid we went to Kings Island every year and camped in our 82' starcraft popup. When I was about 8 or 9 my uncles brother-in-law joined us with his motorhome. I remember being blown away by the tv, bathroom, AC!! and the ability to enjoy it all while rolling down the highway. I remember thinking that when I was older I'd get a motorhome and my kids could play in the back while my wife prepared dinner and I could just drive along.

I'm happy to report that I was able to turn that dream into reality, thanks in no small part to this community.

Certainly the best month the girls and I have had in at least the past few Wink

Safe travels to all of you!!

guy

Engine water light circuit is pretty easy to troubleshoot. There's a procedure in the maintenance manual. Mine was stuck ON all the time. Procedure pointed to the electronic module in the dash.
