Hi all, while working to replace stereo I noticed the dash controls for the hot/cold heater/AC control cable had the end which is plastic broken off. It is the cable behind the dash control panel that connects to the arm that comes through the dash. The cable is probably frozen up from sitting so that is why the plastic end is broken. Is there a replacement for the plastic end of the cable or can you find one or replace the whole cable? I think I can free up the cable by using some motorcycle cable lubricant but just checking before I put the stereo in and don't want to have to pull it back out once done....Thanks, Glenn

Glenn,
you may be able to salvage the cable end by using a small cable clamp, like the ones that come with a replacement choke or throttle control cable for lawnmowers. I have hundreds of them left over from cruise control kits, so let me know if you don't find them locally. Make sure you get the steel one, not the plastic variety. PM me your addy if you don't find one and I'll send you a few. You might want to check the blend door functionality and make sure it's not stuck or blocked in place by a leftover nest or mud dauber house.

Hey Terry, yep, just got back a little earlier from hardware store and auto parts stores..no one had that type of clip. I also inquired about a clip to hold the lawnmower cable on with...that was easier than explaining what it was for..no one carries that. Yes I would like to go back metal as the plastic is a bad idea. I lubed the cable and the door works fine (now anyways). So yes if you have a couple of clips to make work I could give it a try. I will pm you my address. Thanks, Glenn
