When the PO replaced the engine in my 23 footer the air filter stuck up higher that one would like. It was accommodated by gouging out the plywood hatch right up to the carpet. I could build a raised hatch, but is there not a low profile top for the air intake with the filter upstream? then a "dryer vent" out the front.
Suggestions welcome.

The original intake manifold/carburetor/breather setup only required an eighth to a quarter of an inch of gouge. If you have the right intake manifold and carburetor, you just need the right breather. You can get the right manifold
