I am flying into Vegas next week and need to get from the airport out to a little town called Moapa. its about 50 miles NE of town out I-15N then north a couple miles on 168. Anybody familiar with the area or has any info on transportation out there? Id rent a car but then don't know what to do with it once I've got the unit. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanx. David

Moapa is a small, ruralish community with a large power plant near it. Not much else out there. I don't know of any public transportation options, other than spending a fortune on a cab or airport shuttle. As mentioned before, the Black List might be a good option.

That place has been in the news recently. The Maopa Paiute Indian reservation next door is building a 250 MW solar field to replace the 550 MW coal power station presently there.
So they are replacing a $.04 to $.05 per kwh station with a $.15 per kwh one. I guess that makes sense. Maybe they plan to turn off the lights on the Vegas strip at night.
Absolutely no GMC content.

I thought they used Lake Meade hydropower in Vegas. And I bet Shotwell could find some missing TZE numbers if they ever drain the lake and the GMCs that Guido and The Boys deopisted there with unfriends inside over the years appear. (GMC content)

They do, but there are still 3 or so coal plants and 6 or 8 gas plants scattered around the state. It is a big state.
A friend of mine was Project Manager building a new plant a few years back just across the border in Mexico. The main customer for the plant is Southern California. They could not get approval in California so they built it in Mexico and send the power back to California.

I was just out in that area last week looking at houses. Moving to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks.
There may be a shuttle of some sorts going to and from Las Vegas. They have lots of van type shuttles in that area. Try calling Silver Rider at 702-346-7006. I think its a service for seniors but they may have information for you. Moapa and the Moapa Valley are bedroom communities for many folks who work in Las Vegas.
When I was there in Logandale, just on the other side of the I15 from Moapa, I spotted a pretty good looking GMC sitting next to a house at the corner of Jensen Ave and Paiute St. It looked like it had been sitting for awhile as the tires were kinda sunk in the dirt. If had more time would have inquired.
As a side note, finally got my 73 running this week and got a new tires yesterday on a new set of wheels from Jim K. Its got to make the trip to Las Vegas towing my Tracker. Wife will be driving the 76 not towing anything and I bet she will not be able to keep up. hahahah. See you out there David.
