So, my new Norcold 3 way is on its way, my 73 never had the side vent, but I added that last year in anticipation of this event...my next concern is cutting in the new roof vent, ( I did the fantastic fan in the bathroom, but there was already a hole)

Anyone have a picture of the refrigerator roof vent without the cover? Is it framed?

Thanks for all that posted their compartment insulation, baffles, and propane installs.

No more ice cream soup for me!

Sean, I think if you order that top piece from applied that you get everything you will need. Call them if you don't have it yet. They sell a two piece unit. Bottom screws to roof and top to that. Has a screen in it. I have sold several at conventions but those buying knew what they wanted and asked no questions. Take a look at the online catalog. I have a 74 with 3 way but someone else did the work, if it did not come from factory this way.

Dan, I'm in good hands, both the fridge and vent are coming from Applied.

Thanks.

This kind of shows it. In my '75, the opening was framed. If you look at the photo from the right angle on your screen, you can even see the solar powered fan I put in there (since replace be a couple of computer fans).

The Norcold three way works great, keeps ice cream frozen and even freezes water bottles and ice cube trays without issue (overnight), even in the summer.

Yes Sean, good hands. If they mess with you, give me a call. Very Happy
Mine looks like Carls but I use a 4 inch box fan down lower. Have it hooked to my 300 watt solar line so it stops running when sun goes down, the fan.
You will enjoy the three way Norcold. Put mine in back in 07 or 08. Never a problem. Normally run it on 5 setting. Sometimes 6, if it is really warm outside. 12 volts will keep things cool while running down the road. My propane lines run through the wheel wells so I am afraid to use propane while traveling. 12 volts is fine, just don't forget to switch over when you park.

That looks like the same fridge an unknown po put in The Pig. Works awesome. I let it run on ac loaded and ready to roll night before departure then switch it to propane once underway. Keeps cold stuff cold and frozen stuff frozen. oblivious to outside temps. On the final reinsertion of the fridge I sealed the compartment best as possible from the living area to keep combustion gasses and potential drafts from roof/wall vents out.
