GMC need Help near Erie PA [message #251783]

I am on the phone with a GMC'r traveling from Canada to North Carolina and is broken down near Erie, PA. Any recommendations where he could be towed to?

I am from PA but the other side of the state. Spark has been confirmed so fuel seems to be the issue. Unfortunately no Qjet. Been converted to a Ford rail type fuel injection. Owner will need a mechanic, just looking for trustworthy or recommended mechanic/garage.

Quakertown is 380 miles from Erie. Tom Hampton at Grandview Motorhome in Marysville, OH. (937-644-4238) is 'only' 212 miles away.

Sorry. Can't help. Am 100 miles south but stay away from "Great Lakes
Injection" - the big truckers say bad things about them.

Thanks Wayne and Carl.

This gentleman was towed to a small town to a GMC dealer. They have someone coming at noon and will do an initial diagnosis. Based on diagnosis repairs could be done at the dealer or referred to a local independent shop. My recommendation was the independent shop but the towing service thought the GMC dealer was more qualified.

I gave him the Ohio recommendation if needed for more serious repairs.

I am fortunate to live about 5 miles from Ken Frey. Ken is a great guy and extremely valuable to the GMC community.

I have now passed this Canadian Gentlemen on to another qualified GMC Black Lister who is approximately 75 miles away. I believe he is in good hands.

Thanks to all of those on the Black List who are willing to help others in distress.
