We were camping over memorial day weekend at a music festival we go to each year. I noticed my Tvs were unable to pull in any channels, and last year we were able to get 3 or 4. This place is in the sticks, but I wondered what had changed. I finally got a minute to look at it yesterday, and climbed up top and removed the connector from the head. There should be 12 vdc to power the winegard, and I was only getting 3-8 volts as the connector was corroded. I replaced the inline adapter at the bottom of the antenna, cleaned the connections, and went from 2 channels at to 17. So if you have a powered unit, it might be worth cleaning it up. I've never received more than 8-10 channels at my house.

I also lubed the pivot point. Makes it much easier adjust now. I did a quick google and found this write that covers both points: http://blog.rv.net/2008/06/tech-tune-up-your-tv-antenna/

Something I found is that some 12vdc fans like you clip to the dash area will reek havoc on tv reception especially now with being digital signals.

Use Coax-seal to wrap the antenna coax connector at the antenna. It will help keep moisture out of the joint. Also, you can apply anti-seize to the connectors. Seal both ends of the coax cable with Coax -seal.

Good point Tom. I just go done installing my new toilet, and replaced that cable from the antenna head to the base of the antenna mount since it looked a little weathered and I have the tools and cable anyway. Now I get 25 channels. Little things make a big difference.
