So I'm finally getting my tanks put back in... I also put a Carter 4070 Electric Fuel pump and canister fuel filter inline as well...

I'm still using the mechanical pump, do I need any kind of check valve or anything else? Im paying someone to do all this and its decision time... So HELP!!

Thanks,

Steve

The simple answer is yes. The mechanical pump will pull fuel through the Carter P4070 when it is off but the P4070 provides enough restriction that you probably will have a problem on heavy acceleration when more fuel is needed.

Jim K. has a bypass / check valve kit for the P4070 which includes everything you need. He probably will also sell you just the components you are missing. Call him him. 1-800-752-7502

Now, if you are plumbing the pump on the aux tank feed only and powering it from the selector valve, then you can get by without the bypass / check valve kit.
