The Acetone/ATF lubricant may work well but you can't store it in a regular spray bottle as I found out this morning with a garage floor covered in ATF.

You can clean it up with acetone Smile

Even if he bottle is PE, the acetone will leave.
So, I dedicated an all metal pump oil can to the service.
That works. It is also a great thing to do with used AFT.

What kind of oil pump can is vapor tight enough to keep the acetone from evaporating?

I use the refillable pressurized aerosol spray bottles like the ones HF used to sell. I now find them on EBay. They work well for everything except lacquer thinner. Whatever you put the acetone/atf in remember to shake it before using.

I was going to try to get you a supplier and number, but I can't find anything like what I have that is the successful one. I refill it by smell and eye about once a month. I'm pretty sure the mix varies, but it works.
I'll keep looking => I just found one on E-bay....
It is an Eagle 66. Looks like they are still available on the used market.

I had mine in a TSC 'oilcan Harry' with a flexible snout. Bad idea - the gasket on the reservoir disintegrated, and then the plastic piece which connected the flexible snout went away. I need to find an all steel one with a better gasket.

I thought something like that would happen with a generic new oil squirter. That's another reason I asked Matt Colie what he used.

Probably the simplest solution is to keep the ingredients in their own containers and then mix up some and put it in a disposable spray bottle when you need it.
