my GMC seems to bounce quite a bit going over bumps, seems like work shocks to me.
I do have Bilstiens on it, so I expect the ride to be better.

Is there a way to test the shocks?
Not I like I can push on the fender...

If you have the original receipt, you can remove them and send them to Bilstein. They will test them and return them or replacement shocks. If you do not have a receipt in your name, forget trying to get them to do anything.

The way we test the rear shocks is to remove the wheel deflate the air and push the drum up and down an feel for resistance
If you need assistance for warranty, contact me. Life time is life time.(800)752-7502
Also , too high in the back will give you a funny ride.

The best way to see if a shock is OK is to look for fluid leakage. If they are dry, it would be unusual for them to be bad. The damping of a shock varies with velocity so stroking them by hand is not necessarily a good indicator. Gas charged shocks gradually lose the charge but that's not a reason all by itself to throw them out.

Sounds like Bob's confirming the statement I was shocked to find in the
manual for my '72 Dodge: "Shock absorbers do not wear out..."
