G'day,

I was just about to go to bed when this email came in and I wanted to post it to the GMCnet before I did.

We have lost one of the most helpful gentlemen from our group. He was also one of the best fabricators here and his GMC reflected that.

Bob will be sorely missed.

My prayers go out to Marlys and the whole Drewes Family.

Sincerely,
Rob Mueller

To all of Bob Drewes friends,

I am sad to report that our friend Bob Drewes died this morning at 4:06 AM. Marlys told me that he had been asking for the lord to take him home for several days and as she said, “now he is with the Lord”.

The funeral arrangements will be posted on the Skroch funeral home in Flandreau, SD. The website is http://www.skrochfc.com/fh/home/home.cfm?&fh_id=13431 . Marlys asked that I pass on her sincere thank you to all of you for your thoughts and prayers and as she said, “we felt them in our hearts”.

Please pass this on to anyone who may have known Bob and was not in the Greater Midwest Classics club.

Bob

A loss to our community and a much bigger one for his family. Happy to have met him and to have benefited from Bob's vast knowledge and experience. All of my best thoughts to his friends and family. A full life well lived deserves a rest to be celebrated.

Thanks,

Thanks for passing this along. It's sad to loose yet another giant in the GMC community. I'm sure we will all miss him and his help and knowledge.

Don't cry because it is over.
Smile because it happened.

Bob Drewes was a reason to smile.

I recently ran across this sentiment that I know I will be quoting a lot in the future. It is not my origin, but I cannot accurately attribute it to an author.

Sad day. My prayers are with the family. Only met him the one time at Branson but he was obviously a class act of the first order.

Bob was the kind of GMCer that made me want to become involved. Bob was extremely knowledgeable and yet never offered any information in a way that made us feel foolish. Bob was spot on with so many detailed GMC projects but Bob didn't "have to be right". A true gentleman. I will miss him, his smile, his fun loving and being able to "call Bob" when I am stumped.

Makes me want to go out and put a fresh coat of Green on my JD.

I remember Marlys each morning.
