Teri and I appreciate all of the cards, notes, calls, and emails from our GMC friends, most of whom we have met in person. It has been a long winter but I have no complaints. Not once have I been sick through this entire ordeal. Zapped of any usable energy, yes, many times. So thankful that I have not been physically ill one time. Not even when my gall bladder got pierced. Now, that was pure pain for 24 hours, then it was gone. I have had more prayers offered up for me than you can believe and I appreciate every one.
Some time back I removed myself from this net as I was tired of being jumped on by a couple of new folks who know so much more than I do. With my problems I just don't need any added stress. I don't offer technical advice on here. As a small kid on the farm, I had lots of responsibility heaped upon me. That continued on through my stay in the Air Force and then throughout a 29 year career. Putting folks in jail was never difficult but I tried to keep the publics safety in mind and never took it lightly, especially when releasing them back into our neighborhoods. When I retired I promised myself no more responsibility, just a smile as we travel in our GMC. As long as I offer no advise I am not responsible when a wheel falls off ones GMC. Ken B says things are much better on the net so I am glad to be back among friends. We can all disagree but we can do so without demeaning one another. If I have upset one soul here I am sorry for my behavior.
So, our gmc is in the driveway waiting to make lots of short trips this summer. Part of the headliner is down but who cares. I can't physically put it back up yet, however it is heavily insulated.
Bob Drews and I have similar problems however we have been treated a lot different. Right now you can not tell by being around me that I have a physical problem, as long as I take it easy. I am very saddened by Bobs ill health. I have no clue what lies ahead for Teri and I but I have no complaints. I retired on my 52nd birthday for a reason. The memories from the last 7 years will always be with us. Best of all, we have met most of you in person and y'all have treated us very special.
I care about what others think about me. I can't help it. My dad instilled that into me as a small child. Believe it or not, I was not always such a nice guy, , as I am now. People just seemed to not like me during my "criminal" career. As Harry Truman said, I had to stop the buck in my office no matter who thought what. Today, I am passing that buck right on out to my friends, you guys.
Have a great weekend and come see us.

Dan,
You're wise beyond your years. and I've decided a few weeks ago to take the same course that you are taking. Yeah, I got somes' knickers in a bunch by asking questions and giving my wise advice. So I've decided to keep it to myself. Thanks for voicing what I wanted to say. Get better bud, I looking for ice cream in the fall.

KIM!!!
Do you not realize that it's 1174 miles from Americus to THAT PLACE? Or
that the average high on 2 Oct is only 64*F -- and it gets down to 42*F???

Dan,
Although we keep in touch via email, it's great to see your comments back on the net again. I too have pretty much reverted back to lurking for much the same reasons you have, but I always like reading about what's going on here. I learn something new quite often even after being on the net for over five years and owning the GMC for almost six.
I wish I lived closer to you, I would come over and get that headliner back together for you.

Dan - and Mr Galbevy -
As someone rather new to the world of GMCs, but rather old - hat to the world of net communications, let me offer a means of keeping your advice available to those who benefit from it.
Assign credence to complaints/snarks/flames in adverse proportion to AQ. If a poster has a high AQ, s/he is given little credence. Conversely, a low AQ is given considerable notice.
Not only is this method accurate here, I find it accurate pretty much everyplace.
