Teri and I appreciate all of the cards, notes, calls, and emails from our GMC friends, most of whom we have met in person. It has been a long winter but I have no complaints. Not once have I been sick through this entire ordeal. Zapped of any usable energy, yes, many times. So thankful that I have not been physically ill one time. Not even when my gall bladder got pierced. Now, that was pure pain for 24 hours, then it was gone. I have had more prayers offered up for me than you can believe and I appreciate every one.
Some time back I removed myself from this net as I was tired of being jumped on by a couple of new folks who know so much more than I do. With my problems I just don't need any added stress. I don't offer technical advice on here. As a small kid on the farm, I had lots of responsibility heaped upon me. That continued on through my stay in the Air Force and then throughout a 29 year career. Putting folks in jail was never difficult but I tried to keep the publics safety in mind and never took it lightly, especially when releasing them back into our neighborhoods. When I retired I promised myself no more responsibility, just a smile as we travel in our GMC. As long as I offer no advise I am not responsible when a wheel falls off ones GMC. Very Happy Ken B says things are much better on the net so I am glad to be back among friends. We can all disagree but we can do so without demeaning one another. If I have upset one soul here I am sorry for my behavior.
So, our gmc is in the driveway waiting to make lots of short trips this summer. Part of the headliner is down but who cares. I can't physically put it back up yet, however it is heavily insulated.
Bob Drews and I have similar problems however we have been treated a lot different. Right now you can not tell by being around me that I have a physical problem, as long as I take it easy. I am very saddened by Bobs ill health. I have no clue what lies ahead for Teri and I but I have no complaints. I retired on my 52nd birthday for a reason. The memories from the last 7 years will always be with us. Best of all, we have met most of you in person and y'all have treated us very special.
I care about what others think about me. I can't help it. My dad instilled that into me as a small child. Believe it or not, I was not always such a nice guy, Very Happy , as I am now. People just seemed to not like me during my "criminal" career. As Harry Truman said, I had to stop the buck in my office no matter who thought what. Today, I am passing that buck right on out to my friends, you guys.
Have a great weekend and come see us.
Dan

Dan,

You're wise beyond your years. and I've decided a few weeks ago to take the same course that you are taking. Yeah, I got somes' knickers in a bunch by asking questions and giving my wise advice. So I've decided to keep it to myself. Thanks for voicing what I wanted to say. Wink Get better bud, I looking for ice cream in the fall.

Do you not realize that it's 1174 miles from Americus to THAT PLACE? Or
that the average high on 2 Oct is only 64*F -- and it gets down to 42*F???

Dan,

Although we keep in touch via email, it's great to see your comments back on the net again. I too have pretty much reverted back to lurking for much the same reasons you have, but I always like reading about what's going on here. I learn something new quite often even after being on the net for over five years and owning the GMC for almost six.

I wish I lived closer to you, I would come over and get that headliner back together for you.

Dan...Judi and I have our own special story where Dan and Teri Greg are concerned. It has to do with two people willing to enfold two travelers on the road, and the road of "life" as brother and sister. No questions asked, just total acceptance.
You know the story Dan, but you also know that God used you both as His hands in action and rescued us on the road...that is typical of your behavior, and your walk...thank you for who you both are and what you have brought to this band of brothers. This crazy group of vintage GMCer's are much better of because of you Dan...Thanks Brother...

Dan - and Mr Galbevy -

As someone rather new to the world of GMCs, but rather old - hat to the world of net communications, let me offer a means of keeping your advice available to those who benefit from it.

Assign credence to complaints/snarks/flames in adverse proportion to AQ. If a poster has a high AQ, s/he is given little credence. Conversely, a low AQ is given considerable notice.

Not only is this method accurate here, I find it accurate pretty much everyplace.

I do appreciate everyone thinking about us. We will be back out and on the road soon, I hope. Got lots of places to go and sites to see. Lots of emails this weekend. I answered everyone so if you did not get a response I missed yours.
Jim K has helped Teri and I a lot over the last six months, much more than as just a friend. The Dalls allowed us to use their gmc at the convention. That was so special. Many others continue to send notes, cards, and emails. I never imagined how much just a note in a card could mean to a person. We continue to travel to St. Louis and likely will for some time. Glad we bought the hybrid now for sure. Makes the added expense of fuel affordable for us.
Johnny, I do try to use the AQ but I just keep thinking some people can not help it.
Please don't forget Marlys and Bob Drews. They are quite a couple.
Dan

Johnny,

Mr. Galbavy was my father. .....I'm just Jim. Wink

What you are proposing is too much work and takes up too much
of my precious time. Wink again.

I'd rather talk face to face sometimes as with email you miss
the voice inflection and the wink (most of the time). I guess
I'm just an old school type from the 20th century.

I do enjoy reading Dan's stuff though. He can express himself
better than me. Will that get me two scoops in the fall. Wink
