It has been 6 months since Dan was diagnosed with cancer. He has gone through a lot trying to shake this off. The 300 mile round trips for treatments and the bi-weekly chemo has him worn down a bit.
The one thing he likes is receiving emails. In his weakened state he has a lot of time to look at them and respond both at home and when traveling to the hospital. Spring is here and he does not have to worry about traveling in cold and snow.
He just went through 5 radiation treatments which really sapped his strength for the last couple of weeks.
He is now scheduled go back next Tuesday for more chemo. I hope to see him at Bean Station, but with the Tuesday treatment I know it usually takes him until Friday or Saturday to get moving around again. So he probably will not make it.
I watch him going to St. Louis and coming back home every second Tuesday on APRS.

I send him emails while he is en-route and also while he is there. (Teri does the driving and I watch on APRS to see if she is speeding on I-55 .) Dan has a tablet that he uses on cell service while she is driving and also at the hospital.
So if you are thinking about him and Teri, send Dan an email anytime. It has been a long 6 months for him and he is not cured yet, so please let him know you are still out there routing for him.

Ken,
Thanks for this note. Dan and Teri are on my mind with every GMC note I read. Someone posted recently that the felt a real kinship to others on this net, and I agree. I’ve never met you, Dan, or most of the people on this net but I count you as friends.
Dan is a special one. His posts always take a gentlemanly tone. I’ve never read a note of his that pokes at others, criticizes, or demeans. His self deprecating nature hides his great knowledge. His kindness endears us to him.
The reports of his good success with the medical treatments warm us all. He did pick a bad winter to do this, though!
Thanks again,
Larry Davick

Thanks for the reminder, Ken. Dan also really appreciates getting cards in the mail.
This also reminds me it's time to send him another one.
