An early feasibility study?
Probably not, but kinda cool nonetheless.

Interesting. I've been to Kershaw Jr's home. He has a massive high end automobile collection and a model train layout that is mindblowing. Don't recall seeing this car but I was too busy drooling over the Marmon Meteor Dusenburg.

His family makes railroad track repair equipment and apparently are the dominant players in that market. They have serious money. Two brothers inherited the business and hate each other. Apparently one told the other that he'd give him half of all profit if he would just stay away and let him run it so the one I met just plays all day.

I wonder how old this piece is and whether Royce Kershaw Jr is still in Montgomery, AL and if the vehicle still exists!

Here is the company page:

And here is an interesting court verdict revealing the animosity between the two brothers.

Royce is the man I met and he has a facebook page. I'll send him a message and ask about the car.

Small World Division - I attended the same school as Royce Jr, several years behind him. We youngsters were always in awe of him and a couple of his (upperclessman) cohorts who had hot cars of the day. Sam Rice Baker had the first '57 Chev Power Pak any of us ever saw, and Haughton Smith somehow stuffed a 392 CID hemi in about a '52 Cranbrook. The gent who started BASS, and the banker who declined to fund it were of that crew as well.

Starke University School truly an interesting institution as was its original founder, Prof John Metcalf Starke.

I got a PM from Royce. He still owns the vehicle. He sent me his address and phone number. If we ever have a gathering near Montgomery, Al, I'd bet we could wrangle a tour.

Golly, I pass by Montgomery at least six times a year going to/from
Pensacola. This would make an interesting stop and a story to keep around
via some organization's website along with better and more photos.

I like the looks of it. It's like a GMC with a severely chopped top.

I wonder how he managed to find room for the driver to fit between the front wheel well, the side of the engine and the radiator. I doesn't seem like there is enough space up there for a normal sized human. There would have to be about as tight in there as in a Formula One car. It would be interesting to see a photo with the drivers door open.

Probably sits on top of the wheel well, that's how my Ultra Van is set up anyway.
